Afraid of gaining weight?
When you will quit smoking, there will be many benefits. A few are already listed above. Yet you often hear about gaining weight. How does this come about? When you smoke, you ingest nicotine. The nicotine inhibits appetite and smoking makes you taste less. So when you stop, the nicotine will disappear from your body and your appetite will increase. In addition, suddenly delicious food tastes better to you because you will gradually start to taste more.
As a result, chances are you will take in more calories than you burn. This leads to weight gain. For some, the potential weight gain is even the reason for not wanting to quit. But rest assured; something can be done about it!

Exercise helps you burn off that extra calorie intake again. In strength training, you build muscle mass. The more muscles, the faster your calorie burn.
